Church Members Asked for Input on Paperwork

SFleck wrote on 7/8/2008 2:36:48 PM

I tried to do the survey and got to a certain point and it got hung up on the Minutes of a Charge Conference. If we are to spend time on it in order to give feedback, it needs to be sufficiently working so that we are not kicked out. I do not want to start over.

Thank you for including stories on this size church. Their efforts to serve others certainly inspire all of us. Also, churches of this nature taught many of us how to be pastors. Thanks again!

Texas Conference Ordains and Commissions
Record Number of Clergy

Rev. Mary E. Tumulty wrote on 6/6/2008 8:32:05 AM

It was a joy to journey with Jacqui and assist in her ordination! This holy moment marks the beginning of another phase of her spiritual journey and it is precious. God is faithful and pours out blessing upon blessing upon those who listen and respond. The fruit of Jacqui's faithful service, love and dedication came full circle at her ordination. Grace abounds! Blessings, Jacqui!

A printer friendly registration form would be nice, maybe in Word format so it could be typed.

This was my first time at TAC. Was unaware of activities, or existance of "the Loft". Would like to know more about the sewing projects and health kits, if possible.

UMM Get Focused At 2008 Retreat

Ricky Tate wrote on 5/7/2008 6:54:52 PM

Brant, Thanks for the great article on the UMM Spring Retreat. I have been going to the retreat for the past 8 years. A good friend of mine (and to UMM), Fred Kimmey took me to my first retreat and I felt the same spiritual renewal that was felt by many that attended the retreat for their first time this year. This past retreat was a blessing to all of those who attended. We enjoyed beautiful weather, good food, great messages from Pastor Matt, great music from Reggie & Greg and David's Song, and great fellowship with a group of men seeking to be closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope your story and pictures will inspire others to join us next April at Lakeview. For those who haven't visited or know of Lakeview this will sum it up. A little girl came back from church camp at Lakeview and was telling her grandfather about the fun she had while there. The grandfather asked her "What is this Lakeview you keep talking about?", the little girl put out with her grandfather said "Oh Grandpa, Lakeview is where God lives!" Enough said. Thanks again, May God Continue His Blessings Upon You, Ricky Tate President Southeast District UMM

Pre-Register If You Need Child Care During Annual Conference

Vickie wrote on 4/29/2008 11:42:35 AM

My son enjoyed this child care so much last year, he can't wait to come back and see his friends! The WOW Science Camp and bowling and game days are great ideas to keep the kids occupied. And if your kids haven't been there before, there are video game systems and a cafe area, with a movie screen, and bean bags for lounging. Your kids are sure to feel comfortable. The adults running the child care seemed like good role models.

Last Chance for Astros Tickets to United Methodist Night

You all did a very poor job of getting the word out about this event. It should have advertised, on church web pages, and fliers sent to churches.

Early Responder Team Training

Paula Ryburn wrote on 4/4/2008 3:38:42 PM

Clay, I think we needed to have this information distributed a bit earlier, in order get the word out & people registered before your cut-off date (date you determined to cancel the event). For the North District website, I generally need the information by the Wed. a week prior to the event... that would've been March 26th. The first I saw of it was in the Conf. email on March 27th, and then it only really jumped out at me because it was to be at St. Andrew on April 5th. ;) I realize the district websites are not your only method of communication, but I thought I'd send you this feedback anyway. Thanks for listening, and I wish you better luck with the later-scheduled training events! --Paula

I'm glad to have this information and I must say that I enjoy reading more about our conference activities than other items from the UMC website. Thanks for this article and others like it.
